Dr. Matthew Frigault’s Breakthroughs with Cell Therapies

Dr. Matthew Frigault, the inaugural Ranelli Scholar™, isn’t just pursuing safer and better cancer treatments via cellular therapies, he’s pursuing a cure.

“In oncology, we’re always afraid to say the word ‘cured.’ We always say we can’t find evidence of disease,” said Dr. Frigault. “Going back to the first discussions I had with people about cell therapy, the tone was that we’re going for cure. Having that kind of starting philosophy is powerful.”

In addition to being a Ranelli Scholar, Frigault is the clinical director of the Cellular Therapy Service at MassGen and an associate professor at Harvard medicine.
